“Discovery Day Forts & Lighthouses Drive”

Get ready for a day of winding roads, salty air, and historic charm! This scenic drive combines the best of coastal cruising with visits to some of our region’s most striking landmarks —Forts to towering lighthouses that have guided mariners for generations.

We’ll gather early in Kingston with tops down and tanks full, then head out along the upper portion of Hood Canal where sweeping turns hug the shoreline and open up to coastal views. Our first stop: Point no Point, a stone sentinel that’s stood watch since 1879. After exploring the ramparts and snapping a few photos of our cars, we’ll continue toward Fort Flagler, where the road narrows and the sea breeze picks up. It’s the perfect moment to savor that signature Miata connection — the sound of the waves, the wind through your hair, and the hum of engines in sync.  Next stop will be Fort Wardon for a group photo and then off to the infamous Chicken Coop Road via Discovery Bay.

Lunch will be at the Big Elk in Sequim after exploring the Dungeness Spit Lighthouse. Expect plenty of great driving, camaraderie, and maybe even a few gulls checking out our convoy of roadsters.

This drive is about history, discovery, and the joy of motoring — classic Miata spirit with a coastal twist.
